About the artist Bo Lessing
Bo Lessing started out as the youngest ever student of conceptual art legend Prof. Joseph Beuys.
In 2020, well before the AI hype, he discovered the subject that gave him the chance to stand out internationally as an artist and as an author. The "history of the far future of humankind" became his theme.
Beyond all Hollywood's sci-fi stereotypes, Lessing conceived an almost inevitable future path from today to a society 250 in the future, where human-identical robots will be driven by humanistic AI to serve a rapidly shrinking human population.
He created the idea of a huge outdoor museum/exhibition amidst his Sri Lankan jungle, where he can show artworks depicting his predictions.
At the same time, Lessing published his thoughts and predictions in his 2023 book "The Age of Lovable Humanoid Robots and Humanistic AI", available on Amazon.

Artistic language and influences
During your visit, the artist Bo Lessing will tell you all about his artistic roots, his heroes in art history and his position in the art universe.
He will reveal all secrets of his creative processes as well as the tools and the techniques he works with..
These insights will be quite entertaining for any visitor - regardless of prior knowledge or modern and contemporary art.
Recommendations: wear shoes and pants!
- Lessing's Art Trail meanders through a sloped, light jungle.
- Fitness: equivalent to walk eight floor up and down in a house (with pauses).
- For comfort and safety, please come in sneakers or at least hiking sandals.
- We strongly recommend long pants and insect repellents.
- Don't worry about rain! We'll provide protective clothing.
Don't worry - there is no dangerous wildlife to be afraid of along Lessing's jungle path. If you are concerned about leeches (rare and harmless), we provide professional anti leech socks (free) which are standard for professional jungle expeditions.

Location: Lessing's Art Trail is located in Baddegama in the south-west of Sri Lanka, 18 km north of Galle, 10 km east of Hikkaduwa, 2 hours from Colombo and 8 minutes off the expressway exit.
Days: you can book your visit for any day of the week. Call!
Opening hours:
- Morning tour = select your starting time! (earliest 8.30 a.m.)
- Afternoon tour = select your starting time! (earliest 12.30 p.m.)
Group size: 1 - 5 persons
Fee: 35 US$ per person
What you get: 2.5 hours with artist Bo Lessing. You decide how to use this time!
Lessing guides you through the Art Trail and explains the artworks on display. After the "hike", you'll sit down with Bo Lessing for a Q & A and discussion over tea and cake. Tea, water and snacks are included in the price. If needed, raincoats and other gear will be provided for free.
Transport to and from the venue is not included.

Weather: you will enjoy Lessing's Art Trail even when it rains. We provide rain coats.
