The painting shows a lady sitting in the open car of a ropeway with her one of a kind art robot sitting between her legs. The woman is enjoying the landscape a green scenic valley from above, while her robot keeps her company.
She is a "proud" owner, which indicates that her robot is something special, though we don't know since when she owns her (the lips of the robot look female); she might have bought it in an expensive design robot shop nearby this exclusive holiday location, or the robot might have been her companion for a long time without wearing out its attraction.
While the robot might not look typically lovable or cute to a majority of people, it sure is irresistible to our sophisticated tourist. The future will not change the variety of tastes in people, and it will be a sign or elitism to love things that the majority doesn't understand. The big difference will be that regardless of the rarity of one's interests, views and attitudes, one will never be isolated or alone because robots, though maybe not the off the self ones, will be able to understand and be a kindred soul.
Well crafted robot personalities will end the fate of isolation that outsider personalities had to suffer throughout history. Society profits because the full creative potential of these outsider can be nurtured.
How many possible (and particularly female) Newtons, da Vincis and Heisenbergs with how many useful, maybe break-through ideas have former societies wasted because nobody wanted to be friends with these high potential people?

The artist has added an interesting sentence (to the bottom of the painting) her: "It all started with (bad) sex dolls." This isn't historically true because the first lovable and widely acceptable robots were robot animals and the first humanoid ones were caregivers for the bedridden and elders. However, Lessing's love for provocation had him add this sex doll line.

In this version Lessing cut back the text to a minimum - and automatically the work looks much more like conventional fine art as one would find it in a gallery or museum.
